Director of Clinical Operations

Job Summary:

The Director of Clinical Operations is responsible for directing, supervising, and coordinating staff and activities at multiple clinics to provide quality, cost-effective care. This role involves managing staff schedules, physician on-call rotations, and clinic staffing to ensure optimal patient flow and resource utilization. The director will implement and monitor policies to maintain high standards of patient care, utilizing patient satisfaction surveys and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement. Additionally, the director will lead value-based care programs, ensuring effective implementation, data analysis, and reporting to meet quality benchmarks and regulatory requirements. The Director will also be responsible for safety programs within all VCHOS and affiliated facilities.

  • In collaboration with the Executive Director and department supervisors, will oversee all clinic staff and others as directed and/or assigned.

  • Manages daily operations at the assigned clinic(s) and coordinates the daily work activities, staffing, and schedules.

  • Responsible for handling patient inquiries and assisting the Executive Director with overall clinic patient satisfaction

  • Ensures provisions of safe, high-quality patientcare by the staff.

  • Works with the Executive Director to implement operational processes to effectively meet standards for all value­ based, government-directed, and/or commercially driven healthcare programs and initiatives; responsible for effective reporting of results as required by the program

  • Evaluates performance and recommend candidates for hire, merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions.

  • Ensures that office space, supplies, equipment, and assistance are provided and maintained appropriately for medical staff and patient care.

  • Ensures that all business functions are operative and that all processes are effectively and efficiently in place. Identifies and implements process improvement changes. Creates goals for clinic operations and ensures that these goals are in line with organizational goals.

  • Maximizes opportunities to manage operating costs.

  • Works closely with the Executive Director, Providers and MD Partners ensuring all clinic and company goals are met.

  • Contributes to the writing and revision of company policies, procedures, job descriptions and competencies etc.

  • Maintains an active and/or leadership role in company projects and initiatives and ensures implementation and integration in clinics.

  • Oversee Regional Safety and Compliance for all governing agents in collaboration with Department Supervisors and the Executive Director to include but not limited to: OSHA, QOPI, MIPS, etc.

  • Creates and maintains an environment of trust, integrity, open communication, teamwork, and respect.

  • Works collaboratively with vendors, contractors, building maintenance, and others that interact with all clinics.

  • Oversight of direct reports and Performance Excellence Plans.

  • Responsible for mentoring, coaching, and development of direct reports.

  • Brainstorms action planning to improve scores of the Employee engagement survey.

  • Works with managers of all departments in reviewing and analyzing patient satisfaction and developing action plans for improvement.

  • Relates well to all types of people using diplomacy and tact in team building.

  • Regularly rounds in clinics to assure high visibility and develop trusting relationships with staff and to ensure validation that changes, and initiatives are fully engrained.

  • Contributes to development of workflows and drives performance through monitoring and benchmarking of key performance metrics to achieve best-in-class performance.

 Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, nursing, or a related field.

  • Master's Degree is a plus, but experience is most important.

  • Clinic management experience is a must.

  • 3-5 years of Oncology office management experience preferred.

  • Previous experience managing multiple locations is strongly preferred.

 Additional Requirements:

  • Great Customer Service Skills

  • Knowledge of medical terminology specifically in Oncology/Hematology

  • Previous experience with OncoEMR and Unlimited Systems programs a plus

  • Previous Oncology/Hematology experience preferred

  • Ability to travel between office locations as needed.

Salary Range: $120,000-$150,000
