Phlebotomist, PRN
This position may be assigned to work in our Camarillo, Oxnard or Ventura location.
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our team. As a Phlebotomist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinical laboratory. Your primary responsibility will be to collect and process blood and other bodily fluids, as well as maintain accurate records of patient information. Responsibilities
- Collect blood samples from patients using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Ensure proper labeling, handling, and storage of all blood and other bodily fluids.
- Conduct laboratory tests and procedures to determine the presence of various medical conditions.
- Prepare and transport samples to the laboratory for further analysis.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient information, including medical history and test results.
- Develop and maintain a high level of patient rapport, providing exceptional patient care and service.
- Utilize medical terminology to accurately document patient information and communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines and ensure efficient laboratory operations.
- Adhere to all relevant safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of blood sampling and specimen collection and processing techniques.
- Proficiency in laboratory procedures and techniques.
- Familiarity with clinical laboratory settings and the role of a Phlebotomist in this environment.
- Excellent patient care and service skills.
- In-depth understanding of medical terminology and its application in patient care.
- Ability to work in a hospital setting, with a focus on patient service and care.
- Knowledge of vital signs and their significance in patient care.
- Experience with laboratory techniques and the ability to accurately process patient samples.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 40 per week
