Medical Oncologist/Hematologist

 

We are actively seeking a full-time Hematology/Oncology physician to join our well established, private practice as the sixth physician.  The position involves inpatient and outpatient consultations and continuing management for Hematology, Medical Oncology and Infusion services.

The ideal candidate will have successfully completed an ACGME accredited fellowship in Hematology/Oncology. Recent graduates and experienced Medical Oncologists are encouraged to apply. Candidates must be board certified (or board eligible if a recent graduate), and possess or be able to obtain a full medical license in California.  Candidates must also be able to meet the medical staff credentialing standards.  We offer a competitive salary and benefits package.

Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

 

We are looking for a full time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to work closely with our Medical Oncology Team in a busy and growing practice. You’ll be both a health practitioner and an educator for patients with cancer and blood disorders.  Experience in Hematology and Oncology is desired but not required.  We are willing to train recent graduates or those with experience in other disciplines. 

Responsibilities

  • Examine patients and their medical records

  • Interpret diagnostic test results 

  • Make tentative diagnoses and decisions about management and treatment of patients

  • Prescribe medications including narcotics. 

  • Obtain, compile and record patient medical data, including health history, progress notes and results.

  • Explain procedures and aftercare requirements to patients and their families

  • Educate patients on medication and treatment side effects

  • Order diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests.

  • May perform procedures, such as bone marrow biopsy, injections, intrathecal chemotherapy, after appropriate training

  • Must be board certified or board eligible and currently licensed in California

  • Excellent communication skills  (oral and written).

  • Ability to efficiently and effectively manage multiple clinical tasks.

  • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.

  • Demonstrate professionalism, consideration and confidentiality toward all patients.

  • Able to meet all credentialing requirements necessary to obtain required privileges of service.
